Seems like I remember words something to the affect of, 'No man left behind.' Well, apparently, that doesn't apply to Mac users of QuickBooks.

1. Aug 15, 2018  Now Quickbooks will not open at all. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the ap several times. Everything looks like it installs correctly and then when I click on the icon to open QB, it starts to open and then just goes back to my desktop. I have called Quickbooks, but that has been hours and hours of searching down rabbit trails with no success.
2. When clicking on the Outlook App (2019) to get it set up with our Office365 account we hit this: Outlook: Something went wrong and Outlook couldn’t set up your account. Please try again. Well, nothing worked. With Office365 we can’t set up our Outlook client manually either.

In an announcement by Rich Preece, VP of the Accountant Segment of Intuit's Small Business Group, the company has begun issuing notices that it will not be releasing any new versions of QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

While QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2016 will be the last version available, the product will continue to be supported by Intuit until May 31, 2019.

Jan 27, 2016  We’re so appreciative of the folks that take the time to write us and tell us how they’re using Parallels Desktop. And perhaps, it’s because tax season is upon usbut lately, we’ve been noticing a trend of people using Parallels Desktop to run Quicken and QuickBooks on Mac. Case in point: Sabra Benford and Joyce Johnson.

Intuit also advises that this notification has no affect in regard to the the 2018 Windows versions of QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Premier.

While QuickBooks ProAdvisors, Intuit Re-sellers and accountant partners are being advised of these developments, QuickBooks Desktop for Mac small business customers will receive a separate notification of this news in the coming weeks.

Of course Intuit is encouraging users of the QB for Mac product to migrate to QuickBooks Online.

While many former QB for Mac users were quick to migrate to the cloud once Intuit offered the Mac App for QuickBooks (online), time will only tell how Mac loyalists respond to this news.
